Yeah it’s pretty damn decent for something in your pocket all the time. The 7+ camera genuinely does impress me - I’ve wanted a zoom on my phone more times than I can count - but the thing is just too big for me to use one handed.

Was thinking about a 7, but then then SigOther combined US and Japanese iPhones into one, so there was a free 6S Plus ... still, she had to take it to Japan on her next business trip to get it unlocked, but now it’s mine. Free iPhone is best iPhone.

Agreed the + is just too much. I’m sure they’ll shrink the hardware in time to put it in the 8 and 8+. I have a 6S due for an upgrade in December I might get it just for the water resistance.

I left Android back in 2012 when they were just starting to get decent hardware. I’d like to try more too, but I don’t have the time and keep buying iPhones so I don’t have to think about it much. The only time I think I’ll miss the headphone jack is long flights. I’ve been using BT headphones and BT car audio for 2-3 years now and only get out the earbuds on planes. The inability to charge while having them on during a transatlantic flight might suck, but I do that like once a year if I’m lucky.

Hope so. I’m actually doing the Apple upgrade payment plan this time, because I’m hearing rumors the 8 will be a big change and want the option of trading this thing in right away. Something this size with the dual camera would be perfect.

Pretty good actually! It has OIS so low light and not moving it kicks the older iPhone’s butt. Haven’t tried low light with motion with or without flash yet.

Yeah I wouldn’t blink at a free 6S! I was actually thinking of just getting a 6S for $100 less, but after holding and using the 7 it seemed worth the extra. Plus I’m really digging this black color. Might not even put it in a case.

This one seems a little less grainy... I think with the OIS it can use longer shutter speeds to keep the ISO down.

Just got the 7 myself, but I had the 5s before so it was definitely time. OIS is huge for me. I was at the Gateway Arch this weekend and was surprised to get some decent shots! Also, jet black or matte?

Coming from a 5S also although my wife has a 6 so I’ve used the 4.7" screen a lot. Matte, 128 GB. The jet is nice but it seems to scratch pretty easily like the back of an old iPod. They had a few on display but I honestly prefer the matte.

I also really like the silver 7. They made the antenna bands gray to blend in and it works well. I wish thrybhad done the same with the gold and pink instead of leaving them white.

Yeah, I gotta say I went with the Jet and after two days I felt like I couldn’t use it without committing atrocities to its admittedly outstanding finish—put a case on it after that.

Side note, that’s a really fitting setting for the Forester.

The 5S is still pretty solid. Mine just wouldn’t hold a charge any more and was over 3 years old. I just figured I’d pay a little more and get the latest if I’m going to keep it a while.

I have a Lifeproof case so the phone feels substantial in my hand (and in case I drop it in the toilet. Gave my 6S to a friend of ours and she loves it.

And I should say - have a 3 year old Sony/Zeiss Vario/Sonnar lens 1.8 that hangs off the front of the camera and communicates by wireless. Does not fit on 6S Plus w/ case so I’m thinking Velcro ...

Here’s something I did this morning while waiting for the school bus with my kid. There’s some noise, but it is a lot better than my old phone. Not sure how it compares to your S6, but I’m happy enough with it. No flash, slightly cropped, one streetlight across the street plus a little moonlight.

You have an XT Forester right?

How do you like it?

Mom has a 2016 Outback and it’s made the family like Subaru a lot more. We just want a little more power so dad is considering trading the Volvo V60 for an XT

It’s just a 2.5i with XT wheels that I found on a Craigslist from a guy who put custom wheels on his. I haven’t driven an XT yet (though next time I got in for service I’ll probably ask to test drive one). I will say this - We also have a 2013 Outback 2.5i CVT. With less weight and a manual, the Forester feels much quicker, though the top gears are so tall you need to dump down from 6th to 3rd to pass if you’re in a hurry. So I imagine the XT is pretty quick. Remember the Foz is based on the Impreza, so ride quality and interior quality are a step below the Outback. Even in an XT touring, it’s going to feel chintzier than a V60 (we actually cross-shopped pre-owned XC60 and XC70's when we bought the Outback). Remember there is a 6-cylinder Outback too. If you can afford it and aren’t embarrassed by having two of the same car, it’s another option. Someone in my neighborhood has his and hers Mustangs. One is a V6 and one is a GT.
